"Congress is demanding a requirement for more flight experience to earn the highest pilot license, known as an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate -- at least 1500 flight hours, six times the current minimum."

Great reporting guys.

correct me if im wrong, but didnt both pilots of that crash have 1500?? And yes, this is a fine piece of award winning journalism... ugh....

"To say you don't get frustrated trying to get things changed would be an understatement," said Capt. Lee Moak.

Uh, so he is saying that he REALLY is not frustrated, right? Cool. I'm pretty chilled out too.

yes they did but one slept in the back of a cargo plane along with the flowers and organs while the captain slept on a couch in a crew lounge the night before the crash.

Right... I wasnt disputing the circumstances.. I was just taking a jab at the 1500 hour comment from the story... and the "6 times the current requirement"...

Sleeping in that EWR crew lounge is tough, especially now with those damn lights on all night.

maybe this would be helped if the company was required to positive space you in at some point and put you up.... I know that will never happen...just a thought.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle Airlines hire's pilots with 250 hours total time with no discretion to hiring more qualified pilots with a little things called ----> "Experience"

When will Pinnacle learn? Why not just hire some pilots with ATLEAST a thousand hours. How hard is that in todays market?
