GAH i have to stop just visiting the forum during breaks and after work... I need to start coming here DURING work... I need to ignore my students more so I can give this sight my full attention it deserves

Or better yet, assign daily reading on this forum as "aviation homework" and have them prepare an executive summary of "anything cool"

It makes me smile and laugh every time I see the reaction of the people in the boat when that turbine starts to spool up , even though it's a serious situation.

What an a$$. I like the part about the airport diagram clipped to the yoke with "Closed to jet traffic" printed right on the chart. I hope they throw the book at the guy unless, of course, he was making an emergency landing and had no choice. I guess it was a very expensive lesson. Glad no one was hurt. Can you imagine how many more of these types of incidents we will see if and when they start to certify all those very light jets they keep talking about?

VLJ's won't even look like a wreck. People won't even know they were there. Just look like a small stain in the grass. Shouldn't cause alarm.
