Fleet week

So fleet week is next week in san fran. My lady wants to see the red bull air races and the angels, and i cant argue with that!!! Does anyone know where the best place to sit and watch, ive been told by the municipal pier and i just might unless anyone can suggest different! And since tickets for reserved seating in the area are sold out, Im on on my knees begging for any info on scaplers or a lead to a pair of tickets. Or a great place to sit.

My girl is not very aviation enthuisiastic, and this marks a big step in her taking a liking to flying! So any helps would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thanks to all

Your girl will enjoy the show! I guarantee that. There are many places where you can watch the show. The Marina Green is a good spot but fills up quickly. Pack a blanket and a picnic lunch/cooler for you and your lady, and get there early in the day and make a day of it. I personally, have a little spot on the Marin side, in the Marin Headlands, just above the Golden Gate Bridge where I usually watch. Dang, I shouldn't have told you that! :p
Google "Fleet Week" for a full schedule. I do believe that Fleet Week SFO is the best, the parade of ships, the air show....Lock your daughters up folks, because there will be 9,000 sailors in town! :D

Hey Skygirl, I like the South side of the GG bridge, just north of the Toll plaza. The cool thing is the opposing jets pass right overhead and then dive down to the marina green. Hope it is a nice day. Have fun.

That would be a good spot as well, as well as some of the waterfront areas of the Presidio. I haven't decided where I am going to watch it this year. I always try to avoid the crowds on the City side of the Bay,but I think I may watch it from that side this year.

I hope the weather is nice next weekend as well, because this past weekend was a bit gloomy. Usually we have awesome weather for the show. You should come on down if you're not out flying Mike.

My office is right on the Bay, so either today or the next day, I'll begin to hear and see the F-18's zipping by overhead on their survey and practice runs. Love it!

I went down to SFO yesterday and saw them parked in the maintenance base. Quite a sight. Even beter of a sight was watching them take off out of SFO.
God I love living in SF.

Me too Ryan! I'm off work for the next 3 days and plan on watching them practice today, as well as both shows this weekend. The sun is shining, the Bay is sparkling. It's going to be a great weekend to be in San Fran!

....Last but not least, let's not forget that there are 9,000 sailors in town this weekend, all dressed up in their whites. All you single gals out there, C'mon down! :D

Tis a great weekend to be a single gal in SF ;)
