Extemporaneous jazz like this is best heard at a small bar when you are alone, maybe on a bad day when your inner angst is bothering you. Get your tall glass of beer, turn to the stage, and let the music speak to you for a little while. If you are lucky it will sound much like this. And when it's done get up, drop a 10 and leave. They won't care and you will feel a little bit better.

1967 Curtiss Mayfield soul jazz hit notable for its snazzy percussion work. Real drummers and their drums beating the living crap out of congas and trap sets, way before digital sampling nowadays on a mixing board. Reminds one of Stone Roses, maybe an influence was there?

Saw Cub's and Tom's posting of classical pieces. "Procession of Nobles" by NRK is by far my favorite. Btw, Cubdriver, your photo's are breath-taking.

Thanks ATP. Just trying to stir the pot with whatever I find along the road of my own experience. Russia has produced some great works in the musical arts, as you know.

Don't remember where you heard it?
