Word of the day:

Gullible.

adjective
Easily persuaded to believe something.

Synonyms: overtrusting, easily deceived, easily taken in, exploitable, dupable

Usage: It was very gullible of people to believe Obamacare would be anything but a (intentional) massive failure, much the same as people believing publicly-funded scientific consensus means anything concrete, or believing the communist Chinese government will hold up their side of an agreement (see: Iranian Nuclear Deal).

Obamacare's Economic Assumptions Collapse

A Year Later, Failure of Iran Nuclear Deal Is Clearer Than Ever

LOL

The NY Slimes, eh?

Quote:
Something dangerous is happening in the American media.

Jim Rutenberg, a media columnist for The New York Times, recently argued that journalists have no choice but to abandon “normal” journalistic standards in covering Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump because “Mr. Trump is conducting his campaign in ways we’ve not normally seen.” It’s hard to think of a more alarming statement.

...how can individual journalists simultaneously assert that their work has special value, and deserves social respect, even as they decide when “normal” standards apply and when they don’t? More dangerously, what are the consequences when many journalists simultaneously choose not to apply rigorous standards to their reporting?

If journalists essentially set their own standards, they erase the distinction between reporting and advocacy. Taking that approach to its logical conclusion turns journalism into a collection of one-person campaigns against real and imagined evils, often with little factual basis. Conversely, if a large number of American journalists suspend their standards in reporting on a particular issue, they can warp the country’s public debates and damage both our policy and our society.

Moscow Rules | The National Interest

The only people who don't believe there is a gross liberal bias in mainstream media are liberals. And as Jim Rutenberg of the NY Slimes so aptly proved (unwittingly), the NY Slimes has become nothing more than a propaganda rag, and this long ago.

In fact, the NYTs (as well as liberal media in general) has become nothing more than an arm of the current administration's press office.

And everyone knows it.

But let's take that article at face value and agree that the water is rising. That doesn't prove global warming is being caused by man, if it is even happening at all. Not even close. In fact, it's very representative of the left's penchant for this...

Meanwhile, the gross conflict of interest between the fear-mongering warmist's research and public funds continues, just as it did (and does) between Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.

Pay-for-play? No question about it. Unlike global warming THEORY, this is proven fact, as is the NY Slime's gross bias and blatant advocacy. Like liberal media in general, the NYTs abandoned any pretense to objectivity long ago.

"If journalists essentially set their own standards, they erase the distinction between reporting and advocacy."

Their cause is so righteous and urgent that all statements in support of it must be regarded as "truth" (in the ultimate sense of the word).

Exactly so, Tom.

Fortunately for us, the wisdom of honest Abe Lincoln still holds true today, as born out by recent events like the collapse of socialist Venezuela and the Brexit vote...

Hey Fly....just curious...are you as concerned about Big Tech not paying their taxes (like Apple, Google, Facebook, etc) as you are about Big Oil...

...or do you turn a blind eye because Silicon Valley is/are collectively huge dem supporters?

You don't have to answer that. We all know the answer already.

Btw, funny how big tech has only served to exponentially increase the demand for electricity, isn't it? But you'll find ways to justify it I'm sure. Ho hum.

I agree. The disinformation machines of Fox 'News', Breitbart, Limbaugh, et al are complete advocacy, some pretending to be 'reporting'. SayAlt actually quotes these comical deceivers, and he is living proof of,

Since we both know who each other are, I'll bet you that they aren't correct.
