Online Learning???

OK i'm interested in Online learning. I'm currently full time and ill finish my associates degree while being full time. Lookin at how far I am with my training it seems like ill be instructing before I can finish my bachelors. I'd like to go part time online learning and full time work. Does anyone have any experience with online learning and know of any good institutions? My associates is a aviation degree so I am NOT looking to do a bachelors in aviation. Im looking for a business degree program. Also any regional pilots out there doing the same? I'd like to know if it actually WORKS for you with your work schedule. Do you get time to get the classes done? I ask this because I plan on continuing my education to a Masters level some day, online seems to make sense. I just dont want to screw myself and be stuck in a Regional with no time to finish my bachelors. A degree is very important to me.
thank you in advance

I did an online program and it is sooooo easy to do with a regional schedule. I typically have 14-16 hr overnights and a laptop will allow you to get a lot of work done away from home. I took 3 classes a term and very rarely did any work at home!

That's great news! anyone else have any input to add?
crjav8er, can you give me some details about the online program you did? what institution was it? also..what were the negatives to it?
thank you

I chose ERAU because they gave me 36 credits for my previous aviation experience. It is not a very useful degree, just something for the resume to get me an interview at the next level. The classes were good, and as long as you are disciplined you will do fine. ERAU just wants your money, and you get a piece of paper in return. Everything (including exams) is online, so it is not too challenging. The price has been steadily increasing, I think there are cheaper options out there. Online is the way to go for this profession because of the amount of time in hotels with high speed internet :D.

Pm me if you have more questions about the riddle program.

thanks you for the prompt reply sir. I am familiar with ERAU, i'm looking into the university of phoenix online programs for a business degree. I don't think I can PM you, or i just cant figure it out. Either way thanks for the help.

I don't know much about Phoenix online. As long as they are accredited you should be fine. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Utah Valley State College has a pretty good online program.

It's a good program. It's definately not as expensive as ERAU. All the work can be done online and is self paced which means staying on top of your homework and meeting deadlines. In most classes though, you can finish as fast as you would like. You can expect about at least 1-2 papers per aviation class. If you go this route, I recommend taking the general ed classes in a traditional classroom so you don't have to go through an exam proctor if you live outside of Utah. I graduate this december.
