Also in the "Of all people, crewmembers should know better" category, who are the worst perpetrators of loud talking and door-slamming in hotel corridors when they arrive at their overnight, especially late at night?

(And, of course, they're also the first to complain in the lobby the next morning about how noisy other people in the hotel were during the night.)

I got epic payback on of those hotel neighbors one. That son of a bucket truck slammed his door at around midnight or 1, waking me up. I got my payback in many forms however....

At the time, I was a pack a day smoker. The jackwagon in the other room then yacked on the phone with his girlfriend for several minutes before turning in, keeping me up longer. I heard him hang up the phone, and then his room got quiet. I was wide awake by then, and not in the best of moods thinking about having to be up in a couple of hours. In effort to calm down, I lit one up. Shortly thereafter the smoke detector mounted over the bed audibly announced its presence, and the presence of my Marlboro. I couldn't get the damn thing to stop going off. Put out the cig, fanned the smoke alarm, turned the fan on full blast, everything. Dude next door started stirring again, followed by another phone call to someone. I was able to get back to sleep however.

When I left the hotel that morning, sometime around rectum:30 in the morning, the neighbor was hopefully awakened by a loud door slam. About the time he should have dozed back off, the TV should have turned on as I had set the timer (one of the few hotels I've ever seen you could set the TV to come on), followed by the alarm clock.

The hotel was rather empty so I was fairly sure there would be little collateral damage.


My favorite loud neighbor was at the Radisson in downtown SLC though. Adjoining rooms with a pair of girls from a teenage church group. Through the closed door I heard some little dude doing his best with daddy's little girl. He hit the home run, but I don't think she was all that satisfied as he ran the bases pretty fast. A little while later another dude stepped up to the plate and knocked that one out of the park too. An hour or so after batter #2 left, the first kid came back for another try. I saw one of the girls in the hall a little later. I shoulda spend more time on church trips apparently.

Most guys (myself included) will frequently say "niner." I suppose I've heard too many southerners pronounce "nine" as "nan" so I don't want any confusion.

However, anytime I hear someone on the radio who says "tree" or "fife" I just think to myself "thank GOD I'm not flying a four-day trip with that guy!"

I used to turn one of the porn channels on and leave it on just loud enough when I left my room in the am for the noisy late nighters. SWEET revenge.

I'm the first to board the 9:00pm(delayed) flight home after I've been up since 4am and did six legs. PSA FA gives me a dirty look as I don't check in with the captain(I'm nonreving on my own network). She goes "are you jumpseating or did they *give* you a seat?"... I'm like "8D". I boarded ahead of everyone so I could get my luggage works in the overhead like I do every leg in the RJ2.. She looks at me again and waves her finger back and forth, "THAT HAS TO BE YELLOWTAGGED"...

I've done that myself!
What's really confusing is in Germany the walkways and escalators don't move unless someone is already on it OR approaches it when it's empty.
