Not sure if this is true, but heard that if we're in an accident in the hotel van and not wearing a seatbelt, workers comp won't cover you. Either way, I buckle up.

Do they even have seat belts in the antiquated shuttle vans with no suspension and fiberglass roofs/standing room only? Definitely not like a Merc etc that one sees overseas.

I must admit I am today's TOTD in order to ingrain a very important lesson for myself.

For reasons to lengthy to post, I got it into my head that our miniature schnauzer had gotten out and I spent the better part of 2 hours on foot and driving the 'hood looking for him, asking walkers/joggers if they had happened to see him, etc. He is a rescued dog and has ingrained wanderlust in him. I was SURE he was out there and getting farther and farther away.

See, this was a big deal as my wife is currently out of town and would divorce me at best...and outright neuter me at worst...if anything happened to him on my watch.

Anyway, I can home without finding him, thoroughly dejected and wondering how in the world I could explain to my better half what had happened without her ripping me a new one and calling the attorney. Yes, since we got him he has always had a collar with a nametag and cell # to protect against this happenstance (as well as being chipped) but that was no guarantee of getting him back.

So I walk in the house and it hit me. I hadn't thought to check the house to confirm my fears before scouring the neighborhood looking for him. Sure enough, when I called to him, here he came from his lookout spot in the bedroom window.

He had been inside the entire time!

Kind of like looking for your glasses and realizing they are on your face.

I once heard a 15 minute speech on how the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport got its name. Needless to say people began to look around at each other, with looks of disbelief, and wondering if this guy is for real. I couldn't belief the guy just kept going on and on.

Well we can all be thankful it wasn't transmitted on guard.

Or asking your wife, where your cell phone is, and she points out...you are talking on it!
