Logbook Pro for Dummies
I'm sure this will get moved but I don't go to the other forums.
I've searched and found what some people do to print and bind their logbooks. I saved mine as a pdf for and have taken it to Staples. Once there, the people have no clue how to make it double sided or even the size paper I want. Can somebody who has had luck using this program give me detailed instructions on what the bleep to do. Thanks! I work at Comair so obviously not very smart. |

I exported to PDF, legal size, and took it to FedEx Office. They can print on whatever stock you like and spiral bound it. I created a cover sheet and also a summary of my hours, etc to include. If you create a JPG of your signature LBP can put it on the signature lune on each page.
Cost me about $30 as I recall. |

As an alternative to one of their bindings, go to a real office supply store (not staples or office depot) and ask them for a ledger binder (I believe that's the right term) - these are the ones with a nice hard cover such as businesses use for business checks. You can get one in letter size, which is perfect for logbook pro print outs, have kinko's print and drill your logbook for the pegs on the binder, and you have a very nice, professional looking logbook for a fraction of what LBP wants for their leather binders. I also scanned and printed all of my old endorsements and such and put them in the back of said logbook - everything in one place. |

The particular format I was using had the date of the left page, and ultimately the total duration on the right, and in the middle all the other pertinent information. The signature line was on the lower right and all the pages were numbered. I was able to specify to the clerk that the pages needed to be sequential, front and back, with the signature line in the lower right. That gave here enough data points to figure it out. |
FWIW - I just printed mine as a PDF using the REPORTS tab, FLIGHT LOG icon, and "Jeppesen Style:Flight Log Report"
Saved the pdf, FedEx printed double sided, stuck in the binder. It looks like a Jepp logbook, so everyone is familiar and comfortable with the format. |
