Default Scott Leather Company

Anyone know if Scott Leather Company is still in business? The web site is down and the phone is disconnected. I need to get some repair work done on my flight case.

That's atrocious, in my opinion. If you can't take care of your equipment, then don't come to work. Still haven't figured out why guys buy those cheap vinyl flight cases that just break..

Well... iPads for jepps and manuals in January. I'll count the days down.

If you need some stitching repaired/replaced, find a horse tack shop or feed store near you, ask them if there are any saddle makers around your area, or try the yellow pages or even google.

The saddle makers will have the right machines to stitch up your flight kit, if that's what the problem is.

It will be a sad day when they close up shop. I love all my Scott leather products. I hope they are still around.

I was wondering the same thing, so I did some investigating and found out some info. From what I can tell, the business has closed. Most pilot supply outlets list Scott bags as out of stock or discontinued, the website is down, and the phone number is out of service. I did, however, come across Scott's saddle business and gave them a call. I talked to Scotty himself, and he said he sold the flight bag company about 10 years ago to his former employees and that they were running it. He said he had heard they might have closed, and he was going to call and see what he could find out. He said he still makes a few saddles a year but that was it. He seemed like he would entertain the idea of making flight bags again himself if there was a demand for them, and to call him back in a few weeks to check in to see what he's found out.

I just tried to place an order, and the company I normally buy it from has on their website "All Scott bags are discontinued" ..

That stinks! Had I known, I'd have ordered two and had them stored!

edit:
btw, I think Scott maybe have sold out to Hunt Manufacturing which is also in TX... or at least some of his people might have gone there... they make a very similar bag HERE.

Do you guys think the traditional leather flight case will still be in demand going forward?
