Post Intro

Hello All,
I am former Naval Aviator (F/A-18E CAT 1) transitioning back to the private sector after ~5 years away from aviation. I'm instructing at the local Part 61 school while waiting for my EOS and then on to a carer position (I hope).

Did you fly the F-14 too? Not many of those guys left. One of my buddies (since retired) was giving a leadership brief to an exercise group in the reserves a couple years ago and he had pics of his tomcat on the ppt. He gets to the end of the brief, "Any Questions?"

Some smart arse raises his hand and says "Yeah, what kind of jet is that?"

Try to get into something turbine, that's better for currency with the airlines.

Should have looked at him and said, ”Don’t you recognize a glider, when you see it?”

10,000 total hours expat? That’s like 20 hours of hand flying? JK Hope you can get back home. Your experience should be more then enough for many operations.

I’m a captain on an eclipse jet flying 135 charter. My goals are open minded but I aspire to go to a major airline or a comfortable charter company.
