Yeah it was just a Pilatus I think.

Yeah, fly a metro (single pilot) and no autopilot around the world and you will have my respect.

For a very long time she was marketing herself as a distant relative to the OG AE. I remember there was a news story where she was acting real sad when she had to admit that there was no relationship between herself and the OG.

I dont even understand why she got so much publicity, she had a second pilot fly with her, a male I might add. Not that it matters, but it kinda takes away from the female around the world thing.

I will say however that what you mentioned is the 3rd class medical reform for PPL that AOPA is big on. I too agree with the reform. As long as you have a D.L. and have passed that state's vision test to obtain that DL in the first place, then what AOPA is advocating is that a pilot be able to fly a plane in place of a 3rd class medical. It's not necessarily a bad thing.
You realize most states only require 20/40 vision to qualify for an unrestricted license. Oregon only requires 20/70!

Yeah the thing I was thinking was, I've also seen alot of old geezers who cant even fog a mirror renewing their license a the DMV, or someone who is prone to seizures etc. Feel like it would be unsafe in that aspect even if they still have a DL

The FAA only requires 20/40 for a 3C.

Near vision 1st class is 20/40. Distant vision is 20/20.

I don't mean to sound catty or bitter,

I am a normal HWP (skinny if that) Female Flier; not some bitter chick. I just shake my head when gals like this rocket to the top, darn what it means for us other gals. Sigh......
