Racial Discrimination In School System

..Except the roles are reversed.

Dec. 1, 2006 — When Crystal Meredith moved to Louisville, Ky., and tried to enroll her 5-year-old son in kindergarten a couple blocks from their house, officials pointed her elsewhere, to a school that was a 90-minute bus ride away.

A school that was closer to their home, officials told her, couldn't accept another white student like Joshua that year.

Story Here

Hmm, looks like the "tolerance" crowd isn't so "tolerant" after all.

Give it a few years and we'll need a white Martin Luther King figure to start riots and what not like the black one did. After that, the black folk will finally acknowledge us. Then if we don't get a job, heckle a comedian, or just don't get our way, we can say it's because we're white...

wow, you have issues. This article does not say that ''blacks'' are not acknowledging ''whites''. Simply put, affirmative action in the school system is showings its negative side. The school needs to fill their quota so to speak. "The Louisville school district adopted its plan in 2001, and it requires schools to seek a black student enrollment of at least 15 percent and no more than 50 percent." They refused the child because they had no more space for another white student. It does not state anywhere she was refused by ''blacks'' or ''whites''. In this case, it's because of affirmative action this girl was denied admission. A good example of how affirmative action is also a form of discrimination.

A truer statement would be hard to find on these forums!

I suspect MLK never used the words "You *******ing idiot" with the exception of when he met Al Sharpton.

I am making this post against my better judgment, but sometimes I can only take so much.

Affirmative action began as a way (albeit an imperfect way ) to solve one of society's greatest ills. It is unfortunate that slavery and discrimination existed and continue to exist, but there is no question that affirmative action is flawed and has ended up with contrary and unexpected results at times. As responsible citizens, perhaps we should let our legislature know how we feel about it instead of making nonsensical, but very inflammatory comments on internet boards.

Please do not bother attacking me for making this post. I do not really care.

Yes, you're half-right.

You're correct in saying she was turned down because of bunk AA policies. It's these policies that caused the problem in the first place, however it's the reaction to these policies that shows a form of anti-white racism. As the NAACP (the most racist widely-accepted organization in existence today, second only to the Nation of Islam or the Black Panthers) has so eloquently illustrated, there is actually support for the school's ruling. That in itself is enough to show where American (and perhaps western) society is headed.

When you have widely-praised organizations supporting government-endorsed racial segregation laws, you know your country is headed downhill.

I'd give America 50 years to live.

If you agree with what CRJ posted, you know nothing about Martin Luther King and what was going on at that time. You may want to reivew his "I have a dream speech". The ''heckle a comedian" comment was a nice touch CRJ, you're a racist prick.

No, I am right. Why are you referring to organizaztions like the black panthers?? Do you want me to bring up the KKK? Don't even go there. You wanna talk bout where this country is headed? How about what really matters. What the supreme court decides! Their decision in this matter will decide where this country is headed.
