How very true.
Where would we be without CNN (like all other news orgs) manipulating what they want to be the news story of the hour, no matter how ridiculous it is.
I am surprised good old Wolf Blitzer is not having a round table discussion with the controller and pilot from this event while CNN’ rounds up its proverbial line of so called experts (studio lizards) to provide illuminating comments on ATC coms.

Early 80s at Eglin AFB. Flight of 5 F-5 Aggressors taxing out. Lead said something to my GC who asked 'say again'. Lead then went off on the GC, forget exactly what he said. Unfortunately for Lead the SOF (0-5 Eagle driver) heard the conversation and told GC to send Lead over to his frequency. The Col instructed Lead to return to the ramp & said the rest of the flight could proceed on. Lead taxied back & the remaining 4 F-5s took off. The 33 TFW had excellent and cool SOFs back then and I always enjoyed chatting with them.

There was an grumpy RIC ground controller who was a bit of a yeller, especially for a small airport. It was out of the blue, you'd just get yelled at.
Evidently a lot of people had problems with the guy and supposedly someone used the ole "am I here because you're there or are you there because I am here?" call. The guy was awful. Captain Happy vs him would've been warranted.
Just treat everyone one person at a time and life will go smoother.
