Mattress recommendation

I've had a Tempupedic for 10 years and love it. However, the salesman told me it was better for side sleepers and for those who are not extremely overweight. In hot temperatures it softens up a bit, and if you are large, that may be a problem. I'm 6'1" 195 and a queen size is fine for me and the wife. I notice a HUGE improvement in comfort and restfulness between my own bed and the hotel beds. Mine has something like a 20 yr warranty and is well made

I had a water bed in College and my first 10 years of marriage, my wife loved it when she was pregnant with twins...until she got to about 7 months and couldn't climb out of it!
She looked like a beetle stuck on it's back, arms and legs flailing away, screaming, "Help! I can't get out!"
We gave it away when we moved, but I did love that bed, made a lot of babies on that thing!
Do they even make water beds any more? I haven't seen or heard anything about them in over 20 years.

Waterbeds where a 70's fad sold on the idea that somehow all the ladies would want to jump into bed with you to try it out. Everything about them is basically awful, but they could be an improvement over poorly made innerspring mattresses for some people.
Modern temperfoam or latex mattresses are very, very good. I have a temperfoam one and love it. I especially like that I can toss and turn and not disturb the GF. Yes they are great for side-sleepers. They make them in different grades so I think even a very heavy person could find one that works. I also like the temperfoam pillows, haven't tried the buckwheat ones. I dislike the overlarge overstuffed pillows you find in nearly all hotels.

Update:
Following the advice of satpak, I went to Costco yesterday and got a 3" foam topper. We opened the bag, spread out the foam and gave it a few hours to "recover" its shape, which it did nicely. The chemical smell was still there, however, but it didn't really bother us.
The topper comes with a nice Egyptian cotton cover. This is good since you're adding 3" onto your existing mattress.
I slept very well for the first time in a long time. My back didn't hurt, there was no stiffness, and the crink in my neck is gone.
If this continues so well, I'll recycle the box in which it came. There is no way to put the foam back into it anyway.

Update:
With the Seahawks bye week, we visited a couple of mattress stores and spent quite a bit of time lying ... on the many different memory foam beds.
The least expensive was an in-house, locally manufactured brand at Mattress Depot. The Tempurpedic is definitely nice, but the price tag boggled the mind. The iComfort was nice as well.
My husband did his memory foam mattress research using his phone and declared that the best buy is from Amerisleep, which is exclusively an online store. It'll take a few days for it to be made and sent over.
