Default Places to eat on Layovers

So what are some good places to eat on layovers. My two favorite:
CLE Max and Ermas
AVP Damons (awesome Prime Rib and sports bar)

XNA has great BBQ at the FBO
OKC - Kona Ranch I think its called, and across the street is a cajun place remember its name
LNK - Chipotle downtown has tons of college chicks there when school is in
I am trying to remember where else I went.

What type of budget are we talking? Regional FO pay, 737 FO pay, 777 Captain pay, or corporate pilot pay?

From a regional standpoint, there were plenty of good eats and nightlife in Downtown SAV. There was also a tiki bar at the CLE Clarion hotel that had good night life/scenery in the summertime... Dinosaur BBQ in SYR ranks up there too. ORF, SAV, and CHS all have cool piano bars that I've enjoyed.

SFO has a place down on Washington Square? called Mama's that has AWESOME breakfast. It's walking distance from the transamerica tower and any hotel concierge will be able to direct you there.

From a corporate pilot point of view, I've enjoyed Alexanders and Jonahs in PIA, Mother and Sons in SAV, Frankie Rowlands and Table 50 in ROA, St. Elmo's in IND, Fish Bones in MCO.

I do like Max & Ermas buffalo chicken sandwich, but what other choices do you have at the airport? Burger King or the pizza place?

I've ate at Damons all over the country. Not bad.

That place is highly over-rated. I've had some nasty food in that place. The ROC Dinosaur was a little better. The live music was better than the food. If you like wings, you can't beat Duff's of Buffalo. There are lots of good BBQ places around. I just ate yesterday at a Tony Roma's in LIM. I've enjoyed their ribs for years at a dozen+ different locations.

I agree that the Dinosaur is over-rated. It's good but not great.

Best meal I can ever remember having on a trip was the Black Angus at RDU.

Cattlemen's Ranch at ELP (but it's a 45 minute drive from the airport - in the middle of the desert) An interesting bit of trivia about this place is, it is within sight of where the battle scenes were filmed for "Courage under Fire" (Meg Ryan, Denzel Washington). You can still see the crashed helicopter mock-up at the base of the cliff. Spectacular desert sunsets, as well. And the food is good, too.

If you like Italian, Lombardo's at STL. Makes a mean tiramisu.

When I flew charter, we used to do lots of RON's in Pittsfield, Mass. Never had a bad meal at any restaraunt there.

Also never had a bad meal in Hilton Head.

...and for the first year FO... you can usually find a free breakfast at either your hotel or the one next door. Also remember that LaQuinta is spanish for "Next to Denny's"...

Ha! Nice one!

I could regale you with my impressive knowledge of the free/1/2 price appetizer happy hours that abound in places like FMN and GJT, as well as the cheapest restaurants in CYS, but that information probably isn't useful to very many people.

ABQ's terminal has a guy that makes an amazing (and incredibly hot, if you so desire) breakfast burrito for 3 dollars, and the mere act of informing him that "You can't make it hot enough" launches a free comedy routine that is unparalleled.
