Most just allow a Womb Broom

I saw a Cape Air pilot jumpseating with a full beard last year

Most companies will allow a "well groomed" mustache, but as for growing a beard or something like that the answer is no. They say its so that the oxygen mask will form a seal around your mouth in case of emergency...but I call bs on that. If you look at pilots at some European, Middle Eastern and Mexican carriers, they allow full grown facial hair. I think its simply because facial hair doesn't look as professional as being clean shaven does.

Yea it's way more professional to make your 25 year old RJ captain shave so he looks 15... ;)
Passengers love when young pilots look even younger |

No facial hair is dumb. Like who cares seriously....and i call BS on the oxygen mask thing. But remember its professional to start new hire FOs at 18k (rolls eyes)

The U.S. is the only country that I know of with a rule on facial hair. Pilots from Europe to South American can sport beards if they want...from stubble to full on Billy Mays.

Sorry, no artisanal beard oil hipsters allowed in 121 regional cockpits.
