You mean like Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein were enemies of Russia?

No, that's not what I mean....particularly in that Hussein wasn't an enemy of Russia.

Any more history you want to try and re-write?

The house of Saud and it's people are mortal enemies with the regime in Tehran. And the regime in Tehran in infinitely more dangerous to the USA than the house of Saud ever has or will be.

The Saudis have been an invaluable ally to the US in the ME in countless ways over the last 100 years. We would do well to preserve our relationship with them, at least until time and/or revolution brings true democratic accountability to Tehran and Iran's threat to the US and our allies is greatly diminished.

Did you know that Iran had a democratically elected leader from 1951-53 UNTIL, the US and UK over threw him in a coup d'état and imposed a dictator, the Shah? The west had a lot to do with their hostility, don't you think?

Yes, but not as much as their religious differences and lack of widespread education do. Arab/muslim rulers keep their people as ignorant as they can, and what education is available is usually based upon religion. This is why Iranian extremists teach, for example, that America is "the Great Satan" and that America is responsible for Iran's woes rather than it's gov't.

Do you spit on US soldiers, too? Imperial dogs of their ruling overlords that do their master's bidding??

bedrock 05-02-2016 05:42 AM

Just pointing out the lies. Keeping America's young out of unnecessary war is hardly spitting on them. I suppose you would deride this communist scum too.

Major General Smedley Butler USMC

"At least 21,000 new millionaires and billionaires were made in the United States during the World War….How many of these war millionaires shouldered a rifle?....The general public shoulders the bill. And what is this bill? …Newly placed gravestones. Mangled bodies. Shattered minds…For a great many years, as a soldier, I had a suspicion that war was a racket; not until I retired to civil life did I fully realize it. Now that I see the international war clouds gathering, as they are today, I must face it and speak out.”

-Smedley Darlington Butler[1] (July 30, 1881 – June 21, 1940) was a United States Marine Corps major general, and at the time of his death the most decorated Marine in U.S. history. By the end of his career, Butler had received 16 medals, five for heroism. He is one of 19 men to receive the Medal of Honor twice

Or how about these unpatriotic men, former generals all.

That is your opinion, but it is not universally shared. Many people (myself included) would argue that that the Shia are far more rational and predictable than the Suunis. And, as such, a partnership with Iran as the stabilizing power in the Middle East would be a lot better than our "partnership" with the House of Saud, in terms of long-term peace (as much as that might be possible) in the region...

Wow.

It's not often that we see such displays of ignorance here. Well done.

This is true, the Saudis have few friends (not even their own population) in their neighborhood and their potential enemies have the ability, and political and economic motivation, to overrun them.
