Depression
 
Is being diagnosed with depression and being on a medication for it, a disqualifiar to get either a third, second or first class med cert.?

I know its a disqualified for 1st. Not sure about the 2nd and 3rd... I'd check the FAR/AIM...

Is it possible to get a waiver or some sort at all? I read a list of FAA med conditions that were possible DQs. Bipolar disorder came up but no where did it mention depression or the use of depression medication :confused:

It's a disqualifier for all certs. A buddy of mine who is a military aviator told me that's why pilots often go to a priest or minister for their counseling because they can't risk having the FAA pull their cert for visiting a shrink.

Heh treated depression seems worse than untreated :(
