Default HAL’s preferred Regional?

Looking for HAL’s preferred Regional for recruitment if one exists. Aside from the HANG [insert USAF joke], does a Regional exist with HAL flow? Is pidgin preferred during the interview? Can you show up in boardshorts and slippaz? Asking for a friend.

They like Compass and Ohana. They also took a look at Island Air pilots when it went out of business... Supposedly there is a guaranteed interview at HAL at the two-year point if you work for Ohana.

Seems like skywest and compass consist of the majority of New hires. Always a few others, island air of course. But a lot of people got island time, then flew mainland for a few and then are more competitive

Any HAL new-hires without 121 PIC time? Should I anticipate staying with a Regional well after CA to build PIC time? Thanks for all the help guys! This forum is awesome!

Not required to get hired at Hawaiian, but it would be nice to have some 121 PIC time for when the next economic downturn happens. Hawaiian has "no shame" to furlough.

The latest new hire emails from the DO show people from all kinds of back grounds. We see a lot from Military, Compass, SkyWest, Aloha Air Cargo, Horizon.

How much is enough? I've got close to 1500hrs on the mainland (1100 turbine SIC at a 135) and 400 of that is jet 121. Would swapping to ohana now be shooting myself in the foot ?

^^this! What’s the “enough to be competitive” threshold?
