Default Training at Hawaiian

I didn't see anything posted previously on the subject so can somebody give me an idea what the new hire training program is like at Hawaiian?

I have heard that there is significant self study involved.

Not a lot of hand holding. Wasn’t particularly hard, just a compressed footprint which is what leads to the stress of it. That was 330, I think the 321 program is different being AQP from the get go.

So in addition to $36/hr first year, you have to pay for your own hotel for 2 months?

This is all correct.

A321 training was really good, some of the best training i've ever received, and I've trained with flight safety as well as Boeing. The instructors really want you to be successful, and they could not have picked a better group of guys.

I'd love to come over if selected, but how the heck do people make that work? Are there hotels with pretty good crew rates? Air bnb? Hostel?

It’s warm in Hawaii year-round. Steets work well.
