Are beards allowed?

And the special operations community, which has a legit business interest in wearing beards, concluded that pure o2 saturation makes beards an extreme combustion hazard. Will essentially explode and melt your face. They generally accept the hazard as a risk of doing business.
But trying to pretend beards have no potential safety ramification is disingenuous. This was never even an issue in professional aviation until the current beard fad manifested.

I believe (but wouldn’t swear to it) that this was it.

he got an interesting tactical call sign given to him for the lip burn, but fortunately didn’t suck anything hot down his lungs. I’d tell you the call sign but this is a family forum.

Actually knew a very junior WSO who had his within USAF regs little Hitler mustache start to spontaneously combust when he was on 100% O2 coming back from Red Flag. OK, first of all he was a Lieutenant (O-2) and a bachelor and he’d had a long night in Vegas and somewhat of a hangover or he wouldn’t have been on 100%. The life support guys looked into it and blamed some English mustache wax with oil in it he was using.

Wondering if there are any Hawaiian Airlines pilots on here that can confirm or deny that they have a company policy regarding pilots being able to have beards? If yes, how exactly is it worded in your Flight Operations Manual or equivalent ops manual.
Air Canada now allows beards after the commissioned a study in 2016 that confirms that short beards do not effect the seal of transport category aircraft. see link:

Any info from Hawaiian pilots would be much appreciated.
