Aircrew instructor position

Hawaiian is currently advertising the Aircrew Instructor - Pilot pathway position again.

I have read and understand the details in the job description but just wanted some insights as to whether this is a legitimate route to the flight deck at HAL, chances for regional guy with no ties to the islands, pay, seniority, etc.

Thanks in advance

My information is second hand, but the position requires you to be an instructor for 24 months before they’ll give you the interview I believe. That is assuming they are hiring at the time that your 24 months are up.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to add. It’s not a pilot position so you aren’t part of the seniority list until you actually get hired as an FO.

Seems like you'd be better off flying for two years than being a ground school instructor for that time. Its putting all your eggs in one basket, two years, zero time and no currency will keep you out of anywhere else.
