It’s mainly about the max tragedy but gives some insight into the 787 qc issues that are setting Hal deliveries back.

When international starts to open up, mainly Japan, there will not be enough aircraft to grow beyond what we have. Adding Austin and Orlando maxed Hawaiian out.

I think they both already get what they need from each other without merging.

Plenty in the bottom 1/3. I’m close to 5yrs in and think about moving on continually.

This next contract better be the best contract ever. If not, I can see people leaving who are deeper in seniority.

Hawaiian has been my end goal. Why do you continually want to move on?

If you're a commuter from the mainland and not a 330 Capt yet, I can see why its worth moving on.

1.) Faster progression and relatively better job security with the bigger airlines. The progression at Hawaiian is one of the slowest now, as the most junior Capt is almost 4 years.
2.) Payrates are lagging about 10 to 15% behind comparable aircraft at the other legacies.
3.) Lack of schedule flexibility and RESTRICTIONS TO HOW MUCH YOU CAN CREDIT each month.
4.) High cost of living in Hawaii.
5.) An incompetent state government that has total control over the airport and restrictions over travel.

With that being said, if you're from Hawaii and want to stay in Hawaii, this is the best job ever.

Except for the fact that management is a rudderless ship.
How many airlines do you know that cross oceans but still don’t have Wi-Fi!
so many things that they do just leave you wondering why.
