Non-Rev in December? Full?

Flying back/forth to OGG after visiting my family in HNL in December (10-16)… wondering if flights are historically empty enough in December before the holiday rush to nonrev or should I just buy the $79/ea ticket each way? I’d like the flexibility of being able to nonrev and just showing up when convenient but not at the expense of having to sit at the terminal for multiple flights/hours on end due to being sold out. Any rec appreciated… I can also jumpseat but not sure about number of inter-island commuters. Mahalo

You'd be fine jumpseating... Try to avoid maybe between 10am-1pm. Most of our west coast flights arrive around then and many pilots try to get back to HNL early via jumpseat.

Flights every :30. You'll get on your first 1-3 attempts.

I don’t want to be rude, but for $160 why not just have the peace of mind and buy a ticket? if you’re that concerned to look this far out, it must be worth the value.

True… and I could still nonrev on earlier flight if needed and just eat the paid ticket.

We were in LIH first week of DEC last year and everything was wide open, WN was running adds interisland for around 49$. I wouldn't be to worried about it, many flights a day.

yes probably would get on no problem. We have flights about every 30 mins. Although sometimes our gate agents can be not as helpful as the aloha sprit should be. Good luck
