So it would appear that any 1st year FO's leaving Island Air to go to Hawaiian would actually take a pay cut... oh, the irony!

Not really. By second year we make more then your most senior captains.

I'm at Southwest, so I doubt that. ;)

I only used Island Air as comparison since they're also in Hawaii.

I just hope you guys get a contract that's in line with the rest of the majors, and that it includes a livable wage for first year guys. No pilot flying an Airbus or Boeing product should make less than a regional turboprop new hire.

Stay strong!

We're Hawaiian, were special!

Why do so many HAL pilots feel it necessary to broadcast to the world
dey tok like one local brah?

I mean, can't they just say 'tree' instead of 'three' and leave it at that?

Sometimes on Socal Approach it feels like I'm in highschool all over again.

Rant over.

We're all supposed to say "tree." "Fife" and "niner" too!

Don't worry about us, we'll be fine. Maybe worry about never upgrading at southwest.

Why wouldn't I upgrade? I'm slated to retire in the top 8%.

Besides, why the hostility? I wish you guys nothing but the best considering I know roughly 20% of your seniority list as a former Aloha guy.

You may want to lighten up a bit and realize that some people actually wish you well.

What was the drop in the class that just started?
How many still in the pool?
