Well put sir. Got some friends in mx there and I know they have resources at other airports, just thought/hoped that would mean mainland domiciles.

Only caveat is our junior trips are most airlines senior trips. So it kind of could equal that it.

Riverside, every guys situation is different.. i am the sole provider of a family of 4. Two kids in private school, mortgage in Hawaii, food clothing, utilities. Most likey my general bills are more than your take home check (if you are indeed in the 145 still).

For me it is about the money. And many others like me.
If it's about the money, your definitively at the wrong airline. I empathize with your plight but at the end of the day HAL didn't recruit you. You applied. I hope you have your resumes in at the real money airlines and wish you the best of luck.

Think you're confused, I enjoy Hawaiian, have no plans on leaving.

I happen to like the type of flying we do, 2 day trips, or 3. No weather, predictable report and end times. I also enjoy 98% of the guys I fly with.

Will ai chase an upgrade at Hawaiian. Sure...

Will I uproot my family, and QOL in Hawaii to go to Delta to be based in Atlanta and deal with all the hussle and bustle. **** no. I spent my first 10 years of flying dealing with all that. Not worth it. Ill get back to Hawaii tomorrow mid morning. It'll be 80 degrees, probably sunny, scoop the kids up from school at 2, and be eating dinner under the lights of tiki torches and fire pits.

****, 10 years ago SWA was the only place to be. This industry is too cyclical to chase jobs. Find the place you enjoy and stick it out.

Alright then, I must have been confused or misread your post. Based on this post, it seems you chose QOL over all the other bs, good for you.

.Hawaiian fits me so I would not consider moving on to chase more money at Delta or United.

But I would sacrafice some QOL to upgrade and make more money AT Hawaiian.

Does anybody have any updated retirement numbers at Hawaiian?

Honestly it hasn’t changed much from the last time I posted it. We had 14 pilots take an early retirement buyout last year through a covid LOA.

Default Junior Aircraft

What is the Junior aircraft that new hires can expect? I assume the 717. How long to hold A321 or A330 F/O?

Latest bid closes Monday but has openings in all 3. More clarity once it’s published but almost guaranteed the 717 and 321 will be the majority of new hire slots and possibly some 330 slots. There is a two year seat lock on initial assignment.

Big whack of 330 spots surprisingly. Pity first year pay (and the big deal that’s put on probation) is so cr@p.
