Hi, I’m a new hire at HAL and need a crashpad in HNL. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

An option is to search for rooms for rent. That said be careful, a lot of scams out there you will have to sift through, asking for money and application before seeing the place and with no key, etc. But when you sift through the scams there are some that are legit. Craigslist and other sites list rooms for rent, then you have to find the right situation in a decent area that is not a scam, not easy but doable and way way cheaper than a hotel (even at the HA corporate rate) and also way cheaper than a whole place to yourself. Also if you know anyone in your class you can room with and just get a place that way, even if you reach out day 1 for that, you'd have to absorb a bit of hotel (check HA corp rate) costs for a day or two, and have a contigency plan of a room for rent with a stranger lined up as a possibility. I would guess that there will be a few folks who are in a similar situation in your class and scrambling to find a decent place in close. Not an easy solution either way, but with some effort doable.

Flew with a guy that was renting a dorm room that he found on Airbnb. Basically a room with communal kitchen/bath/study room. It was mostly for UH students, but there were a few non students that lived there. Seemed like a fairly reasonable temporary situation. It was close to the airport too. Near Iwilei Costco. Definitely worth checking Airbnb.

Unfortunately I think you’re most likely going to be stuck renting as I don’t think there are a whole lot of crash pads. Check the usual real estate apps and maybe Facebook marketplace for available places. Waikiki or near the base may be the cheapest, but don’t be surprised when prices are 3-4 times what you wanted to spend on a crash pad… sorry I can’t be more help. It’s an unfortunate reality of living here.

There is a hotel in Waikiki that is somewhere in the $100/night range and waives the resort fee for HA people. Also has transportation to/from the airport (Uber is roughly $30 w/tip)

Might not be good for training, but once on line it may be better and cheaper than a crashpad?

I can't remember the name of the hotel but asking around might help

The Honolulu Airport Hotel is right next door to Koapaka and the sim building. They have a HA corporate rate, but I've found the ID90 price is a bit better. It's an airport hotel under an overpass and still costs $190-200/night but is very convenient.

Hi,
I need a place to stay while at work in HNL, preferably near the airport, but would consider driving a bit for a nice place. Any intel?

I work in Honolulu (usually Wednesdays and Thursdays). Looking for someone to share my room with private bath in luxury high-rise condo on the days I'm not there.

Please message me if interested.

Thanks!
