It has nothing to do with APC... it is the context and IP address tracker that your browser uses more than likely. They can target ads based on things you like, or things they think you like, or your geographic location.

Good to know. ( Obviously I didn't know that. ) I figured there was *some* connection between the forum provider and advertisers.

How I got that ad is beyond me.

Sometimes it is one word on a search somewhere. I used the word Si, got a flood of ads (not on APC) in Spanish. I Googled Turkey for Thanksgiving, got several ads for the country.

Yes, most adverting on the net today is provided by services which automatically try to tailor the ads to you personally. The data can come from cookies/browsing associated with the site you're on, cookies from other sites, or info shared from third parties (like social media accounts).

All highly automated and nothing personal. We got some porn ads here a few years ago, IB intervened to ensure their ad service disabled that.

ok well this is all good to know. I am just tech-y enough to get by. I guess I’ve seen weird ads, but this was the most risqué ad I’ve seen here. I operated off the assumption that the host, IB, had some ability to adjust the risqué-ness of ads allowed to be associated with IB’s brand. Weird that it got up to porn level advertising.

So what is the problem? You are offended about a woman's right to choose? When the court overturns Roe v Wade abortions aren't going away in the impacted states, they will just go underground and become more dangerous for everyone. But hell kids born into extreme poverty and abusive relationships are going to have a great life.

You probably also want your taxes cut, even though the need to be raised to support all the unwanted kids!
