The new design.... what gives?

This new banner with the ghosted eagle looks terrible. Gone is the beautiful blue sky and professionally done logo.

One of the reasons we loved APC over the other sites was this professional look.

Please bring back the old APC logo!!

Agreed, the new look is harder on the eyes and was completely unnecessary.

It takes up less space so an extra banner ad will fit. I do not like it either, but at least the site is still free. Maybe the old header could be slimmed down to the smaller size instead? The new one does look kind of well, less exciting than the original.

Sorry you're not a fan of the new header design. We've moved to a more modern, minimalist look in keeping with current trends in site design. We thought it fitting for a pilot site where progress and innovation are constant forces: new planes, new technology, mergers/rebranding, e.g. American Airlines. This new header also unifies the forum and the profiles with one brand. We appreciate the feedback and hope that you continue to be an active member of the APC community.

Cubdriver, the new header is actually slimmer than the old header but right now you are seeing an additional banner that we are in the process of removing. The header is now used for site navigation, logging in, etc. instead of ads. Thanks for the suggestion, keep the feedback coming.

Ever thought y'all might be wrong? Pilots are happy to tell you when you are... And this is one of those times ;) Just as there is always new innovation (in every industry, I might add), a lot of us appreciate the old planes, old technology, and the old companies that used to fly our friendly skies. Mergers and rebranding are usually associated negatively in our world. In this case, we appreciate the old header simply because it looks better than the new one. Now, if you can come up with something better, by all means present it to the community and let us decide whether or not we like it. Although it is your right as the owners of this website to do whatever you like, it would be most appreciated if you included your users in the simple, non-business decisions.

You could simply bring back the old headers and unify both websites that way. Especially considering most do not like the new header. Food for thought.
