New mobile interface?

Is there a new mobile interface on this site? Either way, it's absolutely terrible. No longer can I scroll through a page and select the next. I now have to start at the beginning of a thread and scroll all the way to the bottom (all pages displayed continuously on one page) in order to see new posts in a thread.

Is this just me?

Same. Instantly became very difficult to use on mobile.

Forum Software Update

A new software update has been released on Wednesday 7/13, which included a couple of upgrades to the mobile version of the forums as well.

Thanks for the feedback, we have stabilized the release and we will be reaching out to everyone next week to collect more information. More soon. Nick

I think the new mobile page is garbage, I can choose to scroll to the first or last page. But if I want to go 1 page back, I need to type the page in, even better, the page counts don't match up on mobile. A lot of the threads will show 405/409, 405 being the last page some how, now if I type I want to go to page 404, it will stay on 405.so I have to choose what I think is the next to last page.
Almost as bad as when they tried to change the colors of this site.

Expected on Mobile & Mark Forums Read Option

Hey, thanks for the feedback.

I'd like to share the expected behavior w/ you so that we are all on the same page, and please let me know if this is what you have been experiencing.

If you are logged in:

And you are hitting threads that you have read before,
that have new unread posts [hence the thread title is in bold] > you will be prompted to see the first unread post

If you are hitting threads that you have read before but that have no new unread posts [hence the thread title is not in bold] > the system will push you to the first page of the thread and you will see the #1 post

If you are hitting threads that you did not read before [hence the thread title is in bold] > go to the #1 post

Does this help?

If you are using mobile a lot and you are a power user of the community, I would suggest that you mark all threads as read by selecting the "Mark Forums Read" link, in the drop down menu called "Quick Links" on the right hand side of the navbar.

This will make sure that everything is reset for your account/user id. You will only have to do this once.

I hope this helps.

Nick

Hi, Nick:

Really appreciate the continued efforts to get all the squawks addressed here!

I don't use the mobile site, so I have no experience with this. I suggest, though, that the quoted rule is counter-intuitive (i.e., opposite how most boards handle it): If I click on a thread I've read (but no new posts), I expect it to go to the LAST post, not the first one....

My $0.02....

Thanks again. Cheers!

Thanks. This is certainly an interesting point, thanks for sharing, I'll be digging more into the rationale for the logic that we have. More soon.

Hey, Pagination is back live to site and Infinite Scrolling and Related Threads have been rolled back. Hope this works, thanks for your feedback. N
