Default Incident on record

Is it possible to get hired by a Major with an incident on my record?
It happened over 10 yrs ago and I've more than tripled my flight time with no other issues. Just wondering if it's an automatic red flag. I'm currently flying corporate from the left seat.

I would not let that stop you from trying that's for sure! Its supply and demand. Just be ready to have a good statement because you know it will come up. I would have a well practiced answer. A canned answer. I know of a LLC that hired a pilot that had been fired from another LLC because he was involved with a crew that showed up for work drunk. He was on probation and was not drinking but on the flight deck with the other two.

Yes, you can get hired at a major airlines with an incident on file. The good thing for you is that it occurred over 10 years ago. The airlines want to learn about the incident, that you own up to your mistake, what did you learn, and how did it make you a better pilot.

Default shot at a major with strikes?

Seems like a good place to ask this, I had a DUI in 2001. Much water has gone under the bridge since then. I also have one failed checkride. My multi of all things. I identified, verifed (by stamping dead foot / dead engine with my foot d'oh!), and feathered the correct engine but, left the throttles together. I also don't have a degree. Currently I have 600hrs 121 SIC flying a ME turbo prop with 2400TT. 1000 of that ME TurboProp 135 from the right seat. I am early early 40s. This is second career though I got my Private when I was 19.

Most people have been very optimistic and upbeat when I ask this but, they are usually sitting right next to me. So I ask the cold harsh winds of internet reality for your opinions also? Do I have a shot at flying for a major?

Danke--

Maybe... you cant win if you dont play.....

There are other companies to work for though... If you are set only ONE type of flying in your career you might be disappointed.
