Hopefully you did something about your Safety Officer/DO who was encouraging Hageland pilots to write up other operators to the FAA while riding to the out stations on the jumpseats.

Because unless your new hires want to live in the bush they won't be getting any jumpseat rides to/from ANC.

Hageland is working hard on improving safety of air transportation in Bush Alaska - for other operators! :D

Dang dude, even though that has been proven to be absolutely false you’re still clinging to it.

I can attest that Hageland is a fine place to work. Even though I’m not an employee anymore, I’ll continue to refer people to RAVN/Hageland and wish them continued success.

Tell it to the Ryan guys who've had to do the carpet dance for the FAA.

When did Ryan start hauling jumpseaters? When I flew for them they never, ever had a jumpseater. Was it when they started flying the SAAB?

I do not doubt that someone got reported by a Hageland jumpseater, but I do doubt that it’s systematic and coming from the upper echelons.

I guess it's a good thing they get positive space tickets on Ravn group aircraft to work then.

Send me a PM if you don't mind with the specifics.... I called and asked Lee and Boyuk about this directly to find out if this was true and they said they have not had anything of this that they were aware of.

As stated earlier, not sure how anyone was "jumpseating" with Ryan when they don't offer that necessarily...

Hope they never want to go anywhere in the Bush except to work then. Perhaps if Hageland pilots want jumpseat privileges they should come clean about who exactly prompted them to write up crews from other airlines.

Your indignation seems odd; there’s no proof to your claim. And you seem to be out of touch with the reality that a) very few Hageland pilots go to bush destinations if they’re not flying a revenue flight or being carried as a passenger on a company flight, b) Hageland flies to more bush locations than any other carrier in the state (so why would they need to jumpseat), and c) most (but not all) Hageland pilots travel space positive on company planes to their base. While some still jump on AS, NAC, or Everts, it’s not as common as it once was.

It sounds as if you have a hard-on for Hageland and that you heard a story and reinterpreted it - that you heard what you wanted to hear - and now you can’t let it go. There was another thread like this on the forum, initiated by the father of a freight pilot who died in a nighttime accident. All the facts pointed to pilot error, but the father had been told by an attorney that the real culprit was the company’s maintenance. That father was convinced by the attorney, and wouldn’t consider any other explanation. You seem to have the same irrational conviction.

So how’s that buyout of Penair going?

This seems like a relevant topic to bring up in this thread in the Hiring News forum. /s

Hageland Requirements

Just wanting some clarification on Hagelands minimum requirements. Is it both a SEL and MEL commercial or SEL commercial for 207 and 208 right seat. Thanks!

dangerfield 01-09-2018 09:01 PM

Has anybody been called for an interview?

What position could I qualify for with 1550 TT, SEL, MEL (50 hours), COM, Instrument, CFI, ATP written?

Will RAVN be attending the NW Aviation conference in Puyallup, WA again this year?

Probably 207 PIC for a few months and then 208 PIC. Maybe 208 PIC if you have a lot of Caravan experience.

However, I think they are trying to go away from hiring street captains and promote entirely from within in the future.

Thanks for your response. I have zero Caravan time so nope on the 208 pic.

I hear loading cargo is required. I'm getting a little too old for that kind of stuff maybe 30 years ago darn it. :-/
