Staying Current

I'm currently "bleeding" hours while I wait until I get out of the military in Jan '19. I'm setting at 130 w/i the last year and 0 inst appr w/i the last 6 mo. If I have more than enough turbine and PIC time for the majors (my apps have only been in for 3 weeks), would it be worth it to try and stay current in a C-172? Or do they only care about staying current in turbine a/c? Thanks!

Instrument currency; it's not what it's in, it's whether you can fly instruments.

For application purposes, you probably want to be legally current, I think some apps might filter for that. ASEL would suffice for that.
