Seattle area jobs?
 

I'm a new CFI/MEI working on my CFII looking for an employment in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Currently instructing in Arizona (wife was transfered to SEA). Any info leading to a job will be rewarded with lots of fermented, hop flavored, malt sugared, liquids! :D

I know Pavco Flight out of Gig Harbor (KTIW) is hiring CFIs. Which is about 5-10 mins west of Tacoma. Check out their website at www.flypavco.com. Fun people all around. The guy to talk to is Mike, he is he owner.

Galvin Flying Services, Boeing Field, Seattle.

I worked there for three years and have to say it's the best flight school I've ever seen. I've worked for two other flight schools. The Global Group in Glendale, AZ. Not too far from you. I also worked for American Flyers out of Morristown, NJ.

Galvin is the best by a long shot. The best equipment, facilities, and management. Now the pay is much better than when I left also.

Galvin is now opening a flight school in Hawaii. Send your resume to Nick Frische. It's a great place to fly. I stayed with them for an extra year because I didn't want to leave and go to the airlines.

BTW: That's me with my student standing in front of the Seminole on the pilot training page with the Blue Angels flying by. He was my ATP student that just passed his practical. We snapped the photo a few minutes after his exam and got the timing perfect. Great checkride photo.:D

I think just about every flight school in the area is looking for CFIs. Go to Airnav.com, plug in the airport nearest where you're going to live, and look up every school/FBO on the field. Call them up and I'd bet you one of those malt-sugared beverages you'll have a job in days.

I've recently talked to the folks at Pavco (TIW)... great little operation. Mike's the owner, Dave is the chief pilot and probably the man you want to talk to. On the far North end of the area, Snohomish Flying Service has been looking for a CFI for a while now. It's a bit of a drive from Seattle, but a FUN place to fly! I also recently talked to somebody at Wing Aloft (can't remember his name!) at Boeing Field. They're also looking for CFIs.

Wings Aloft pays CFIs $13 an hour in the air and $10 on the ground and you owe then X-number of hours for every airplane *THEY* check you out in. So even if you have 300 hours in a C-172 you will still owe them for the time they spend with you to "give you the check out". So for that 1.5 hours in a checkout ride you have to give them 30 hours of dual

I know some former instructor's that worked in the Seattle area. Heck if you have enough time I know people at Horizon as well(if you are about the quality of life thing). Ok, so pm me if you are interested because it's been a good period of time since my last visit to the Pyramid Brewery.

Stay away from Havery field (S43). I was there for a little over a year. You will hate working for the Harvey family after about 2 weeks.

If you have your 135 IFR mins, try Aeroflight out of BFI. I had a great time flying checks around the NW.

I learn to fly with Wings Aloft. My instructor is particularly commendable; I can't make any judgment about the rest since I don't know them. Last I heard, Wings is looking for CFIs. The pay of $13 an hour is not too good, however. I don't remember making that amount of money in a very long time.
