bachelor degree, real or not
Does anyone in the know, know if UPS does their own background checks? If so or not, how would a bogus fake bachelors degree work out, applying to UPS? does anyone think they would actually verify or care, do they even ask for that information?
you know, one of these places that you pay and get a degree within a week includes transcripts and 800 numbers to call.
hey, gotta ask, curious...

I wouldn't even think about lying about something like that. Curiosity or not... probably not the best question to ask here bub...
If you can't be honest about something like a four year degree do you really think they will let you fly their aircraft....
Not a shot in he!!.
But then again.... thats what I think.

Last year, the CEO of Radio Shack, who was starting to do a really good job turning the company around, was found to have had a faked academic background. Even though he was doing well, they immediately cut ties with him.
An additional question is this: If you have a fake degree...do you disclose that you have it, and say "I got this in the mail, but it is BS", or do you simply say "some college" or "no degree"?
Either way, I wouldn't chance using some bogus degree and passing it off as real.

Yes, they do care. Only list a degree if it's from an accredited institution. It does not matter if you earned it the old fashioned way or online - the key word is "accredited". I would not list a bogus degree on any application.

Ha ha, you are funny and no clue, based on your experience and age. I could name a few companies that it would not matter.
It would be my problem if I did such a thing. This forum doesn't incriminate anyone.
If you were even close to my experience you would understand my inquiry, not suggesting you should agree.
cheers
thanks guys

I would hate to navigate through life with your moral compass. Regardless of your level of experience, which you may or may not have, UPS "prefers" a four year degree. If by chance you do get an interview with your disappearing ink diploma, when asked what defines a leader try not using the word "integrity" in your fictitious definition. If you truly want some accurate and informative responses try posting in the correct forum, maybe Cargo!

You don't know about me or my experience.... so I would watch what I say on these boards regardless of anonymity.
If you could already name a few companies that wouldn't mind you flying their aircraft after having lied about your education level please let me know who those companies are..... I want to stay well away from them.
If I were even close to your experience level I wouldn't need to be asking such an asinine question. And for the record I think it shows bad taste for you try to put me in my "supposed" place... I think anyone with any real integrity would realize that your initial post was a mistake. You are posting on this board which is viewed upon by professionals and students alike... you need to show more respect for those who have gone before you and for those who will follow in your footsteps in aviation.

Neo-
I know folks at UPS flying that do not have a 4 year degree. They have character enough to not even need to make cocktail discussion jokes like this and still keep us in stitches. Even those of us w/ lots of degrees- real ones. There comes a point where their experience covers that missing sheepskin, and we know it, so no big deal. Pull that faked degree crap- when you get caught- you'll just leave before you can even get canned.

If you already work and need to add a degree (to go to UPS), then do it online from an accredited college. Some schools have good prices too. I did my master's online. Many are not accredited, so find one that is and has a good reputation. If you do get an "online, non-acredited, degree", don't try to pass it off as a real accredited one. If you put it on your resume, be prepared to answer questions truthfully about it. I'd say being honest is better than having a degree.
