Banner towing to build hours
#22
Van Wagner is a great company. I used to work for Aerial Sign (now Van Wagner) for about a year, flying all over the place. If they tell you something, consider it true.
I myself did not pay for training, as I dont' think anybody there did. They wanted a year comitment out of me (and with a few hundred hours, I was glad to give it). I did pay for my tailwheel through them. It cost me about 250 bucks? I THINK? its been about 7 years.
But pay for training is all across the board in avation. Weather it be 135, 121, or even banner towing (Hell, dosen't flight instructing these days cost you your soul?). The real question is who is reliable and safe? and not just yanking you around and stealing your money. I don't agree with pay for training, but I have given my word and signed a contract or 2 in order to protect myself and the employer.

Hey, Laura There is a banner tow company across the field at my airport KBVY. They use old crop dusters or something like that. All I know is what ever they use it can takeoff in a very short distance. I'll try to find out some info.
