CFI Jobs?

im looking for a good CFI job somewhere with good year round weather does anyone have any recommendation? currently im in waco,tx finishing up my training.

You'll need 200 hours of dual given, 500TT and a II, but I highly recommend Oxford in Goodyear, Arizona.

chritz1179 03-02-2008 02:23 PM

well as it stands i have 200tt no dual given. i dont have my cfi yet

Heck, I'd be happy with a CFI job that flew the heck out of me and paid 30K a year. Oxford sounds great if I had the times.

TSTC needs instructors

AviatorAl04 03-05-2008 10:14 AM

Local flight school in Winona, MN needs flight instructors - they should be willing to do some line work as well - they also give you some free SIC King Air time if your willing to wash the plane after.... typically people leave for a job with 100 Hrs of KA time under their belt - the student load is slower, but should be picking up - obviously thats in most places tho.

Good year round weather, I might suggest Southern California. Get the -II and you will hardly ever have a day when you cant fly. I know there are several flight schools out there looking for instructors.

Came across this in Pheonix...

http://www.panamacademy.net/AboutUs/...t.aspx?jo_ID=5

Anyone know anything about working here? With a CFII & MEI, am currently working as a CFI at a small school in FL. I am considering applying at PA for an FI role, (money looks great, fleet looks modern) and was looking for first hand insight as to what it's *really* like to work and live there. The 'promises' of up to $55K/income seem pretty aggressive... and moving across country isn't trivial... Questions:
o Is the $55K/yr earnings realistic and achievable or is only 1 of 50 instructors ever gonna really make that much?
o What are *average* earnings for an FI w CFII and MEI?
o Can you really get 100 hours monthly?
o Are you paid as a W2 employee or a 1099 consultant (ie no bennies, on your own for taxes etc.)
o What is the caliber of student you are training?
o Are they financially connected in any way to the economically troubled Pan Am Airways that seems to come to life and die again every few years (they most recently had a few routes from Bedford MA and Portsmouth NH to FL but recently shutdown...)
o What else should I be aware of, that working there has taught you, or that you wished you knew before you took the job?

Thanks in advance, for inputs from current/former PA FI's.

Chinese students...or are they Korean? Regardless, those instructors have my respect....I'd go crazy after the day's first couple of flight hours.

oh, and it's "Phoenix."

South Bay Aviation in Torrance, Ca. is always looking for instructors. It's about 5 min from the beach as well:)

http://www.lanierflightcenter.com
Gainesville, GA (NE Ga, about an hour from Atlanta)
- great year round weather...
- new airplanes
- low cost of living
- good pay
- GREAT clients
- Great owner, lots of support from management
- bonus program
- low cost of living
- lots of opportunity in the Atlanta area when you're ready to move on

I worked there for 3 years, it's a really good flight school and a great place to instruct.

BankAngle09 03-09-2008 08:28 AM

www.ifta.aero awesome gig, flying barons and bonanzas teaching ANA and EVA airline trainees... salaried + OT free health and dental i think you'll make 40K your first year

Latron 03-11-2008 11:08 PM

What kind of time is IFTA looking for?

Capt10Matt 03-25-2008 04:36 PM

Not sure what they're looking for now, BankAngle & I quit for a regional about 7 months ago. Last I heard they were wanting just a CFI & CFII. MEI used to be required but apparently if you stay there for awhile they'll end up putting you in the Baron and giving it to you.

Excellent company, great people, hard working students....couldn't ask for more in a CFI job.

chritz1179 03-25-2008 05:46 PM

chritz1179 03-26-2008 07:02 PM
