"A good deal I suppose, except the WO's will never hold a command...which come to think of it may not be a bad deal "

This is a GREAT deal! Believe it or not - even in the Corps - not everyone wants to go the command track. In that case - a sole flying track is a golden opportunity. I've luckily fell into one practically - but there is a cost associated.

Off the topic of pilot WO's but keeping with the thread title, how's hiring at the USNR squadrons looking for SELRES? Reckon the airline hiring downturn is making it a pretty sweet option. Add in some furloughs, and the line must be out the door.

Anyone got a take on this?

I have recently been told by two good friends, who do not know each other, that the Navy is offering a very big signing bonus for pilots. Does anybody have any information on this? Any truth to it?
