Getting hired..
Ok, so I've heard of guys getting hired by going to a job fair and making face to face time... but has anyone actually been hired by responding to an add from say a, Climbto350, or Avcrew? or for that matter any ad?
Seems like those jobs go to people with internal refs.. they're just placed for EEOC purposes or something.. no? |
I do know a guy that got a full time GIV job off the street on climbto350.com I think your right that some jobs are simply offered as a quick and easy EEOC attempt. I don't think I've ever gotten a replay, let alone a "Dear John" letter back from my applications.

I'm ready to give up.... 100 jobs sent for, and not a peep.. even the ones I'm way over qualified for.
worthless. |
don't give up man..look outside the box...go the extra mile....I'm 38 last (600 tt) getting my american licenses now and just last year I broke my neck spent 6 months in bed 3 to 4 months to walk again and I started flying again 1 month ago..and I'm not going to give up...I know the market is bad now but keep on going.
best luck |
thanks for the good word papacharlie.. I'm 38 too.. feel like I've wasted the last 10 years chasing this career to nowhere.. done everything right, good grades, college, flight time, but just seem to show up late to all the parties. Timing is so much of this industry and I've just not had any of that.

thanks Stinsonjr.. I've read it.. and many like it. I'm able to hang on and dream, but I've got a wife and kids that are not so willing. I've turned down dream interviews with Emirates and Etihad, and less dreamy interviews with Indian and Chinese airlines that I would have otherwise taken as a single man.. But I agree, it's as bad as it's going to get now, so we'll just have to wait and see what's next.

Thanks man.. I agree it's a waste, but the job you posted reads like the vast majority of them. "300+ on type" are the key words... I'm typed in MD11 and A320 and neither of them are looking for any US Based pilots.. that I can find at least!
Believe me I'm looking 24/7.. but thanks for the tip. |
