Any UAV pilot contractor jobs?
Anyone know of any companies hiring civilians to fly preds?
As a guy who is on terminal now I know I would consider doing it as a civilian but not as an AD guy... Seems like the opportunity would exist for recently separated folks with clearances and TAC experience!

Evergreen Aviation has a UAV program. Not sure if they have any openings left but they have in the past.

I have some UAV support positions I am trying to fill for DOD contractor. You would not be flying the beast but would be an important part of the squadron to include mission planning.
Jobs start NOW through Nov...pay 70-80k for guy with right quals. Please email resume/background info to [email protected].
Secret, TS, and TS/SCI all desired. Stan/eval and/or FTU/RAG/SUPT experience a huge plus.

There are companies out there that are hiring "Air Vehicle Operators (AVO)." The job entails sitting inside a box and controlling UAV's of varying sizes. You really don't do any flying just mostly clicking on a map and controlling airspeed and altitude along with the payload (camera). The machine launches and lands itself. You would most likely go overseas for a year and then may be able to hold a job in the states as an instructor or something else.
The great thing is that the pay in the states is 60k starting and 130-150k overseas. This is from multiple companies that I interviewed with. I just accepted a job with one of them. I had high ambitions to go commercial but the pay and instability were to limiting for a guy like me with a family to support.
If you are interested just google UAV jobs and go from there. There was at least 20 companies that I applied too so dont give up. The one large requirement is a security clearance though. If you don't have that then the chances are pretty slim. They like commercial certificates and instrument ratings coupled with military experience. The military experience does not have to tie into aviation.
Good luck and happy hunting
