Default Dallas/Fort Worth

Hey all...

I'm looking for anything in the Dallas/Ft Worth area that will pay at least $35k. My fiance wants out of MN (she is a southern girl) and I am trying to oblige (spelling) her.

I have 1900 TT, all multi engine turbine in military aircraft. Plus I am a reservist, so if you know if that will hurt or help my chances with the company you suggest, please let me know that too.

Thanks

If you've got 1300+ PIC, go to Higher Power and get a 737 type rating (MGI Bill will pay 60%) and pledge Southwest. The military guys with enough PIC (seems if you have 1000 PIC and a HPA vouche, you can get in will less than 1300) got called about a week after finishing there and hired right after that. If not, try Eagle (they will hire you in a minute) and get on with a reserve unit at JRB to pad your income until you get the 1300 PIC for SWA. If you've read the regional board, you'll see that you'll be getting that PIC time from the reserve or guard unit with the Looooonnnnggg upgrade times @ Eagle. FWIW, it's pretty dang cheap to live in Dallas so if you do Eagle and reserve or guard on the side you'll be fine. Not good, but fine.
Best plan would be to stay put, get the fiance to chill (i.e. bribe her) and full time the reserves until you get the PIC time to get hired by SWA (or get enough hours to have one of the part timers in your unit drop your resume at FedEx, UPS, CAL, etc). Remember you'll probably start somewhere other than DFW/LUV and have to commute.
That said, if you REALLY need to move, DFW is a fairly easy place to commute through.

You should try Simuflite. They are a training center located at DFW. www.simuflite.com

Call Executive Air Shares out of KC. They talked to me some time ago about flying a King Air for them. They are planning on basing it at FTW. They have one already and are looking for a second. Plus they have some stuff in Tulsa and Wichita I believe. Granted, those are not OKC, but Tulsa is just a short drive.
