Without a login, it's hard to say. It could be pipeline patrol, but at $200 a day that's like $25/hr. I'd say that's about max for pipeline patrol. It could be aerial mapping, but again, that seems kinda high paying.

I don't know, I saw these guys post on Will Fly For Food (10/16/2008) asking you to send your personal information to a Gmail account without specifying what you would be doing. There is no way to research the company, and they are going by the name Charter Alternative which makes me wonder if they are trying to bend the rules of common carriage. All that coupled with them asking specifically for low time pilots really makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Here is that posting:

I think they have a sister firm in Washington State as well. I always see "seattlerecruiting @ gmail.com" for a ton of corporate stuff. I sent them a verbal inquiry a year ago about a job and never heard back. Lots of scams out there.

I saw this one floating around ct350 the other day. Has any one heard of any of these "scam" jobs actually turning out to hurt any one? (i.e. ID theft, spam mailings etc?)? For those of us actively looking for jobs, it's a scary prospect that applying for jobs could end in a world of hurt. Thanks for the input.

How does the scam usually go? I sent them my info just inquiring about what they had to offer. I gave them my name, address, and phone number. They haven't returned my inquiry yet.

Re: Charter Alternative
just a heads up, I sent my information, and got a call from this guy, I do believe it is a scam. the guy wanted to set up a website, with a basis of the late "Day Jet", and set up day trips, but the pilots had to pay 9.95 a month? then eventually up to 99 a month was what I was told by him.

haha, I guess then next we should be expecting an e-mail soon from the King of Nigeria asking for our bank account numbers so he can deposit one million of his dollars for safe-keeping?
