UPS poolies, good news
 

My friend, who's been in the UPS hiring pool for the past 4 years, just got a call from UPS for some "information."

He's obviously been dwelling right at the bottom of the pool, so his getting a call against the backdrop of rumors that the pool will start getting drained finally..... this is good news.

4 YEARS!!! I thought that they pulled all the guys out of the pool from back then, and all the new people in the pool are from the interviewing they have started in 2004. Well that is GREAT for him.

Enjoy it buddy, because you REALLY deserve it. :D

that pool system is something I can't understand. Nobody else does it that I'm aware of. Why leave a guy in limbo for years? you should either be hired or rejected.

Larry R. in HR called one of my recs Monday and offered him a June class date. He had been patiently waiting in the pool since pre-9/11.

Phil D. in HR did say there would be some "changes" coming up in the interviewing/hiring process. Looks like draining the pool-- at least slowly-- is one of them.
