Old, ratty, tired planes. I saw them breaking down all the time in the Caribbean when I was down there.
Learn some spanish if you go to PR and it will help with the old geezers who fly for them.

Check the other thread on them, then check the NTSB database. You won't think about going there again.

Lost a friend there, ex ATA, during a training event last summer.

That was one of the few places that called me "out of the blue" shortly after the start of furlough from AA (TWA). It seemed too good to be true, and after some checking...it was. I passed.

I know that this is an old thread but, juuuuuust incase anyone was thinking about it:

"Air Tahoma, an air cargo firm based at Rickenbacker Airport, has had its operating certificate revoked effective immediately, a representative for the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed today.

One of the company's planes crashed near Rickenbacker Sept. 1. Three crew members were killed.

The company handles cargo on behalf of third parties such as Federal Express.

The revocation means that Air Tahoma cannot operate its aircraft, which include nine turboprop Convair planes.

FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Corey said the "emergency revocation" was made yesterday after an audit that followed the September crash found a "long list of allegations and violations."

The Columbus Dispatch - Local/State

A haunting, but tributary video of the ill fated crew recorded the morning of the crash. God rest their soles:

This does not suprise me. What does suprise me is how LONG it took the FAA to revoke Air Tahoma's license. I've personally worked with a Former Director of Training from Air Tahoma. He was not in that position very long. He left before the accident last year because he actually feared for his life while he was operating Air Tahoma's airplanes.
