Any good wintertime jobs?
The company I've been "hired" by says they probably won't be holding an FO class until late January or early February. By the time that comes around, my currency will be down to nothing! I've been renting every weekend or so, but it doesn't seem like enough to me.
Does anyone have any ideas of good wintertime flying jobs? I can't imagine a big demand for jump pilots when it's 36 degrees outside. Beyond that, it may be difficult trying to find someone to hire me for only two months or so. Thanks guys. |
Not sure where you live, but there might be some flight schools still hiring instructors. Aerial survey seems to be done during the late fall to winter months, so they may have already hired everyone they need. Traffic watch in a metro area maybe?

Depending on where you live there is a demand for jump pilots at this time of year. Two come to mind. Deland and Z-hills in FLA.

Should've mentioned, I live on Long Island and don't have a CFI. I flew aerial survey last year, but passed this year because of the other offer. I got in touch with my old boss to see if any pilots "weren't working out" but he said everything's going great.
I'd like to stay relatively local, since moving for a 2-month job then moving back to the northeast seems silly. I do miss Florida, though... |
You know what, I take back what I said. If I can find a good monthly apartment rental, I would definitely move back to FL for a few months to fly. Beats freezing temps and snow in NY, that's for sure

What about for the Phoenix area? Any rumors circulating about jobs down here?
|
Does anyone have any leads on dropzones that need a pilot?
The people that I can get in touch with say they're full. |
Wish I could help ya. I recently talked to a DZ and they told me the stack of resumes is a couple inches thick.
