Do Express Jet pilots get a preferrential interview? Or do they stand in line now like anyone else with apps in?

What %-age that are being hired off the street right now have referrals from Continental pilots ? A Continental captain told me that everyone getting hired has one.

I'm not sure about the ExpressJet question of yours, but as for Continental pilots' recommendations:

Nearly every pilot off the street in class at CAL right now has one, according to our sources. CAL's pilots can fill out an online rec for as many pilot friends of theirs that they want, so there are many thousands of apps on file through www.airlineapps.com that contain an internal CAL pilot's recommendation.
