Alaska always has jobs, I thought I was going to get laid off and sent some resumes up their and got a reply from Hageland a part 135 operator. Ameriflight is always hiring. Not the Ideal jobs but they will work during these times.

Home Depot...Good benefits.
I hope some High Schoolers see this...you should only go to ERAU iof you can afford it easily (as in your parents pay for it...all of it). It is INSANE to get a student loan to go to that place, just to be no more competititve than a guy who went to Community College and 2 years of State school and a cheap FBO for 1/5 the cost.

I would guess the same... Ameriflight, Great Lakes Airlines, Colgan Air (I believe is hiring), Key Lime Air, and Alaska flying, specially heading into summer.
You can also check www.climbto350.com , www.willflyforfood.com , although they cost to join, you can look at the general info for jobs without paying, then if you see something that might work and you need the specifics you can pay the fee for one month.
It sucks to have to pay when you're looking for a job, but it might help you land one.
Good luck, hang in there, be persistent, and something should come your way.

ERAU is a rip off period, I spent no more then 40000 for a bachelors degree and all my ratings. And am in a much better position then 90 percent of the ERAU grads. I had 1500 hours by the time I graduated college since I went to a Community College and Flight instructed during my time at a cheap state college. Even if you have daddys money it is ridicoulous to pay 3 times what you should, to get a 20000 dollar job.

OK. Back to the topic at hand...
Join the club!!!! 7 months furloughed, and still looking.
The problem is you have low hours compared to others on the street, so the competition is HUGE!!!
Just send your resume EVERYWHERE, and you might get a nibble.?
Good Luck!

Where did you flight instruct? What state? One thing rest assured. There are many people in your situation. Flight school loans are similar to home loans. These banks lent out money to people who can't pay it back.
Even if you had got a job flying- the cost of living and all the other expenses- would eat you alive. Now you're low time, in a lousy market (not just for flying- pretty much every industry.) Bare in mind, there are thousands of qualified pilots on the street right now.
As for opps outside of the US. There markets are drying up as well. Not to mention- looking for pilots with experience.
Look at the logical options first. Great Lakes, Commutair, Colgan and flight schools focused on training international students. Again, keep in mind that there are thousands of folks applying to those positions.
As for the money, apply for unemployment- you'll probably make more collecting then working as a CFI. At least you'll have some source of income. Call the bank, tell them the situation and see if they'll lower your payments. If you have co-signers- you'll want to let them know too.
There are no easy answers. Just have to stick it out. No matter what, the world will keep on turning. One day hiring will resume.
