Ha... try 10 legs a day on the 717, some can be up to 40 min! Long hauls... especially from Kona to Maui... thats a real long one! It'll probably be a couple years before you could go bigger...
I think its gonna be tough to get an interview if your not kamaaina... locals have been waiting for those jobs forever! I droped a resume, but I don't have my maui address anymore and I'm sure they'll just add it to the pile...
Never hurts to try! Good luck everyone!

Whats left in Hawaii?? couple 135 jobs in a 208 or a shorts.....Alpine is gone...Island air? About it, this past hiring streak if you threw bags or were a FA back in 95 you got a interview, whats next? kamaaina isnt qualifyed mainland braddahs might be no "braddahs" but any whiteboy can throw on a aloha shirt, RJ captain? or dash 8 into MKK 3 times a day?
and for the "commuters" decent apt near the airport "Salt Lake" about 900+ anyone gets the job let me know i had a great place, i can refer you to a building thats 900+ for a decent studio/pool/coverd parking, cause finding a place to live is the real *****.

No.......
The 717 is more senior than the 767. Hawaiian Has VERY preferential hiring practices. Which means you have to be kamaaina if you dont know what this means or if it doesn't apply to you then "Oh Brah No Can Hire da kine".
It would seem HA will hire in this order:
1.) Aloha Airline Pilots
2.) Island Air (thats Hawaiians flow)
3.) A Few Trans Air
4.) Probably one or two ANG pilots
5.) GO Pilots need not apply
Also, if you're not related to someone in HR or married to the CP sister than your resume pile is to the left.

never hurts to drop an app. if you can, get on with one of the regionals asap...whoever..bang out some hours there, then jump ship to a quality regional, upgrade there..make some coin and make a very heavy decision as to stay or go... good luck to ya, and NEVER give up. I am furloughed right now, left skywest as a crj check airman, great schedule and good coin...think hard before you leave a regional if it is a good one..my life at the legacy carrier SUCKED on reserve..which was for 8 months...and I do mean SUCKED!!!..all that being said, once you get paid to fly a cool airplane it is really hard to do somehting else...
