Its not about eating our young, its about decreasing your chances. If you found a million dollar lottery that only had 10 contestants and you were one of them, would you run down Las Vegas Blvd handing out sign up forms and trying to get as many contestants as possible?

You are comparing apples to oranges...

Your being sucessfully hired is based on the needs of the perspective employer and your qualifications being matched. Here is an example...

I have an ATP with B777, B747, B737, BA4100 & BA3100 Ratings with 12K+ hours and most of the 747 & 777 is Captain time. Now if you would place me with a 1,750 hour pilot with 500+ taildragger time and we both were going to apply for a position flying a taildragger for banner towing along the beach, who do you think they are going to hire?

I'm not qualified for that position, whereas the other guy is...

See my point?

Best of luck in your career and fly "agressively safe"!

Flight Express has been advertising on U.S. Pilot for pilots. Just in the last day or two.

This could be true. Last I heard we were short a pilot or two in CPS, they were looking for someone to fill Omaha and it's possible they are going to need more soon for some more runs we have acquired, especially if I leave. :D The 8-12 month upgrade to Baron is not going to happen. You may have to stick around for 4+ years to even hope of getting a Baron run. I think we have 2 or 3 out of our 30 something barons flying. Airnet took some baron runs while we took some of theirs using the 210.

I thought I heard Airnet was about to or had already started to furlough pilots?

Airnet has had guys on furlough for a while. Some guys were downgraded from Lear captain to flying the Chieftain.

Thanks for your help... I'll do some research and post my results.

I've also heard of a couple of other cargo carriers: "United Parcel Service" and "Federal Express" I think they're called...
